Single Malt Whisky Reviews from Australia

Yoichi 20yr old. Fantastic stuff and almost impossible to find now at a reasonable price.

Notes

Eye: Burnt gold

Nose: Heavy raspberry compote. Very floral. Heavy refined sherry influence. Hints of coal. Leathery.

Palate: Sweet raspberry. Jelly babies.

Finish: Espresso and sherry mix with a light smoke and gorgeous raspberry malt sweetness. Leathery tobacco notes come through at the end.

Japanese whisky is simply brilliant, and this Yoichi only further confirms my thoughts on this. Do try it if you get the chance. You won't regret it.
