Single Malt Whisky Reviews from Australia

IMAGE TITLE

A while back at a Starward master class at The Oak Barrel in Sydney hosted by David Vitale we were lucky enough to be given a sample of a new creation from the team. I was very impressed with the results. I am quite the Starward fan and was really happy to see them branching out into some single cask releases under the New World Projects label, especially something like this that is a bit out of the ordinary.

Notes

Eye: Amber hue

Nose: Dried mango, green papaya, a heap of ginger and fresh lemongrass.

Palate: Wow, ginger Starward on steroids, very light and delicate.

Finish: Flavours just linger and linger. Ginger and lemongrass mix with the gorgeous flavour profile of Starward whisky.

Totally unique and absolutely fantastic whisky. Everyone who I have given a dram has loved it. The way the ginger and lemongrass complement the Starward profile is just amazing. It's just such a shame there was so little produced! To go with this whisky I couldn't think of anything more fitting than some old Pearl Jam. Enjoy.
