Single Malt Whisky Reviews from Australia

An oldie but one I hadn't gotten around to posting tasting notes for.

Notes

Eye: Light gold

Nose: Medicinal peat with iodine. After some time the vanilla comes through. Very earthy.

Palate: Medicinal lemons and ash. Hints of earthy clay. Feels dry.

Finish: Long powerful and smoky. Hints of brine and lemon with some oak influence.

Details

Distillery: Laphroaig
Age: NAS
Region: Islay
ABV: 51.2%

Really good stuff, this is my favourite of the more recent Cairdeas releases.
