Laphroaig 10yr Cask Strength Batch 3 Whisky Review
Cask strength Laphroaig. Sadly hard to come by in this country, and that is an understatement. I wonder why this is the case? Australia is a big country and has a lot of Laphroaig fans. Certainly can't be an issue of demand.
Notes
Eye: Light
Nose: Medicinal with buckets of Laphroaig smoke. Maritime elements are there. Charcoal. Hints of vanilla and honey. Diesel oil and harbour scents. Fire on a fishing boat.
Palate: Now that's a Laphroaig. Like the good old 10yr but on steroids. Very smooth, minimal burn. Coal infused vanilla. Hints at honeyed apple. Smoke that just blows you away. Very complex.
Finish: Mouthfeel on this one is sublime. Apple, honey and coal mixes with the maritime elements on the way out. Gorgeous cream malt note intertwined with smoke. Just lingers and lingers.
