Single Malt Whisky Reviews from Australia

I was lucky enough to try this one at a Heartwood tasting at The Oak Barrel in Sydney. Tim is a great host, if you get the chance you should attend one of his tastings. Notes are a bit short. According to the Heartwood website this one is a combination of a 10 year old Lark Sherry Barrel (LD446) and a 13 year old Tasmanian Distillery Bourbon Barrel (HH0040).

Notes

Eye: Light gold

Nose: Marshmallows, cognac, very sweet, hospital ward alcohol, vanilla, dried fruits.

Palate: Wax, sweet, cognac.

Finish: Amazing, sweet long honey, vanilla cream, hints of caramel. Long finish.

Brilliant stuff as usual from Tim at Heartwood. Couldn't help myself with the song choice, seemed only logical.
