Single Malt Whisky Reviews from Australia

Ardbeg from the mid 1990's and Cadenhead's single cask quality, doesn't get much better.

Eye: Blonde

Nose: Refined peat with obvious lemon citrus. Salty and sweet. Some green vegetation.

Palate: Sweet lemon malt followed by a peat explosion, then come the maritime elements.

Finish: Great mix of lemon, earth, peat and malty vegetation with a salty end.

Distillery: Ardbeg
Age: 16yr's Old
Region: Islay
Bottler: WM Cadenhead
Cask Type: Bourbon Hogshead
Distillation Date: 1994
Bottling Date: October 2010
Limited: 255 Bottles
ABV: 55.6%

Expected nothing less from this beauty. Still see these popping up at auction for fairly reasonable prices. Highly recommended!
